Like all dermatos® prostheses, thumbs are custom made to each individual. This strict customizing is necessary to ensure proper engineering and accuracy.

Dermatos® thumb prostheses can be created for any level of amputation. For individuals with no thumb remaining, a partial hand prosthesis can be created which will allow the active fingers to come through the prosthesis - thus allowing complete range of motion

Dermatos® can even be created for thumbs which have very short levels of amputation, such as nail loss. In these cases the edge of the prosthesis is made less than a millimeter in thickness and has a transparent edge. This "invisible" edge eliminates a harsh visual transition.

a thumb prosthesis may help ones typing
Dermatos® thumb prostheses are often useful for typing, especially if the amputee is accustomed to using their amputated thumb for pressing the space bar.
